In today's class, we were introduced to a new tool called Turnitin. It was a tool where students would be able to upload a document and the app checks for both plagiarism and as well as grammar. It displays as a percentage of how much your document has plagiarism in it, but we learned that we cannot always rely on that percentage. Common phrases anyone would likely use in an essay will have a higher chance of being used in the website you took the information from but this app cannot properly judge that as something that isn't copied. So we should not think too much of the percentage, but rather the errors it points out. I did find some phrases that were very similar to the references, so rephrased it and changed the vocabulary I had used to still express what I had wanted to say before. One thing that concerned me, was the fact that you could only upload /submit a document 3 times in 24 hours. Fortunately, this directed to me checking the document I wanted to upload more frequently and thoroughly before submitting, which I think was a positive outcome. 
I felt that overall, Turnitin was a beneficial tool. By checking my writing with it, I can be more cautious about how I am utilizing information that is not mine. It also gives me an idea of how much of my writing is my own work, and I hope to utilize it in my future writings as well.

PR Photos (4/21/21)

In today's class, we first were told we had 7 minutes to take an appealing photo to promote our school. When doing so, there were various tactics to make the school's photos look professional or interesting to best attract new students. Prior to doing so, we were explained some bad examples of places to take pictures. First was an old building that used to actually be a pool, but the exterior made it look like an abandoned building with weeds and vines growing everywhere. Next, we were taken to look at the library. Personally, I think the inside of our library would be suitable for taking pictures, but then I could not say the same for the outside. The library has big windows, but with all of the blinds closed, you would not be able to tell that the inside is a library through a photo. The Mark Of Athena (Chap. 5-8)

Chapter 5 (Leo) The ship was badly damaged. Leo wished he could create a time machine to go back two hours and undo what had happened. What he had done. When explaining what had happened to Annabeth, he tells her that he couldn't control whatever had possessed him. It just felt like he was watching himself do things.
